Exploring Landscapes

1) I did use rule of thirds to emphasize the land.
2) I used balance to weigh out the surrounding objects of the water. I used emphasis putting the important objects in the middle. Harmony was another principle used as they objects off to the sides are very complimentary to the landscape picture. Theres also some proportionality as the trees in the background cover the same area as the water and land in front of it.
3) The image was taken in the afternoon which was a very good time as the sun was able to successfully create a reflection in the water and sheds nice light onto the landscape. The positioning also helps as the the sun creates a shadow in the background instead o the front where it can be visibly seen.
4) The foreground background relationship was basically used to create a double image, one being the reflection in the water and then a beautiful background that compliments the foreground with color and contrast.

1) I think the gradient map does because i feel liked it has the best contrast between black and white.
2) There wasn't that big of a value range for each. The gradient map worked the best which can comparatively be seen in the water as it shows the least bit of trees.
